Man takes woman's wig, then she gets the last laugh

In New York City early Monday morning, a woman had a shocking experience when a man ripped off her wig as she was walking near Penn Station. The woman, who goes by Lizzy Ashliegh online, shared a video of the incident on TikTok. The video, which has over 500,000 views, shows her visibly upset as she asks the man why he took her wig. The man, who seems drunk, laughs and does not give a clear answer.

Ashliegh, a creative director, actor, and singer, later posted another video explaining that her wig was attached securely with combs, making it difficult to remove. She highlighted how much force the man used, which also pulled her hair.

Her TikTok post quickly gained attention, and many users helped identify the man as Anthony P. Orlich, who worked as a lawyer at a New York law firm. The firm has since confirmed that Orlich is no longer employed there, stating on LinkedIn that they take inappropriate behavior very seriously.

On LinkedIn, some people expressed their belief that Orlich should face legal charges, and many felt that his firing was not enough. Efforts to contact Orlich through his former work email and phone numbers were unsuccessful.

Ashliegh thanked her followers in a follow-up TikTok video, noting that they helped identify the man within 12 hours. She also mentioned that she filed a police report and visited a doctor, who advised her to take a muscle relaxer for her tense neck area.

The New York Police Department has not released additional details about the case. In a TikTok update, Ashliegh said she is moving forward with legal action and will keep her followers informed as more information becomes available.
