The ‘world’s oldest fiancee’ gets engaged at the age of 106 to boyfriend

Valdemira "Valda" Rodrigues de Oliveira, 106, and Aparecido "Jaco" Dias Jacob, 66, have shown that love has no age limits. The two met at a nursing home in Brazil three years ago and quickly formed a strong bond. Despite the 40-year age difference, they fell in love and shared many special moments. Valda says, "I fell in love with him. I like him a lot. If he dies, I die too," expressing her deep connection to Jaco. Jaco feels the same way, saying, "I fell in love with Valda the moment I saw her. She makes me really happy."

Although their doctors advised against them marrying because of health concerns, Valda and Jaco’s love is undeniable. Their nursing home was determined to help them fulfill their dream of marriage. They contacted Project of Dreams, a volunteer organization that helps elderly people live out their dreams. When asked what their biggest wishes were, both Valda and Jaco said they wanted to get married and live together in a small house.

Though the nursing home couldn’t provide them with everything, they did organize a beautiful engagement party to help the couple express their love. The party was held in front of 150 guests, including 40 other nursing home residents, and was filled with happiness. During the ceremony, Valda and Jaco exchanged engagement rings and made vows to be loyal to each other forever. They sealed their commitment with a passionate kiss. A live band, a stunning four-tier cake, and beautiful floral decorations made the event even more special.

Valda looked stunning in a soft gray dress, pearls, and perfectly done makeup, nails, and hair. Jaco looked sharp in a suit and tie. Even though they could not have the wedding ceremony they dreamed of, they felt that getting engaged was a huge step forward. "I know it’s not going to happen, but I would have loved to wash Jaco's clothes, cook his meals, and take care of him like a wife," Valda shared.

Jaco added, "I asked her to marry me, and we always believed it would happen. But getting engaged is a step forward for us right now."

For now, their beautiful engagement is all they need, and they are looking forward to spending their days together. Their story is a reminder that love is timeless and can bring joy at any stage of life.
