Man lays hands on man, then this happens

Bishop T.D. Jakes is a globally respected leader known for using his vision and talents to inspire others, both inside and outside the church. His approach is rooted in meeting people where they are in life, helping them unlock their potential. This has allowed Bishop Jakes to reach millions from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life. He utilizes tools like social media, television, and film to connect with and support people.

In 2016, Bishop Jakes launched The T.D. Jakes Show, a daytime talk show where he engages in open conversations with guests, empowering them to live stronger lives. One of his core beliefs is captured in the saying, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime," which reflects his leadership style of equipping people with the tools they need to succeed.

For over 40 years, Bishop Jakes has led millions of people to discover their purpose through his dynamic ministry. Time Magazine named him “America’s Best Preacher,” and The New York Times called him “One of the Nation’s Most Influential & Mesmerizing Preachers.” In 1996, with limited resources, he founded The Potter’s House (TPH), a multicultural church in Dallas, Texas. Today, TPH has over 30,000 members and more than 50 ministries.

Bishop Jakes’ influence extends globally, from Dallas to South Africa to Sydney. Through TPH’s programs, he supports underserved communities with initiatives like homeless outreach, literacy programs just to name a few.

Each year, Bishop Jakes brings people together through events like MegaFest, a massive faith and family festival that attracts over 100,000 attendees from around the world. He also leads the International Pastors and Leadership Conference, providing leadership training to pastors and ministry leaders.

Many successful individuals admire TD Jakes, including Tyler Perry who anointed TD a few years ago and stated,

"My intention was to just leave the check and bless God," he said. "See, I love to give. I've been a giver all my life. You see, when people have given to you and sown into you and God has touched them and given you favor. (Referencing a $1 million dollar donation that Tyler gave TD Jakes' church the Potter's House.

A best-selling author and award-winning filmmaker, Bishop Jakes is recognized for his powerful storytelling. Oprah Winfrey called him “America’s Treasure” for his ability to connect with audiences. He has written several best-selling books, including Destiny: Step Into Your Purpose and Instinct: The Power to Unleash Your Inborn Drive. He has also produced successful films like the romantic comedy Jumping the Broom.

Bishop Jakes has been married to his wife, Serita, for over 35 years. Together, they make a strong team, supporting each other in both their personal and professional lives. Serita Jakes is a leader in her own right, serving as executive director of The Potter’s House Women’s Ministries and supporting victims of domestic violence. The couple has five grown children and shares a strong faith, which they believe is the key to their lasting marriage and success.
