2-year-old Genesis Reid is Missing, Here's What Happened

Two-year-old Genesis Reid was reported missing from her home in Enterprise, Alabama, around 3 a.m. on February 16, 2026, by her mother, Adrienne Reid. According to authorities, Adrienne reported that she checked on her daughter and found her not in the home, with the front door open. The Enterprise Police Department, in collaboration with the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and Coffee County Sheriff's Office, launched an immediate investigation and continues active, methodical efforts to locate the child and bring her home safely.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified inconsistencies in the initial report, leading to Adrienne Reid being charged with false reporting to law enforcement authorities. She appeared via video before a Coffee County judge, where a $1 million cash-only bond was set. Adrienne remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail until bond is posted. If released on bond, she would be subject to strict conditions, including GPS monitoring, participation in a court referral program with active drug screening, daily check-ins at the Enterprise Police Department, and remaining within Coffee County unless granted court permission.

Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox stated during a news conference on February 18 that Adrienne Reid is currently the only known suspect in the case and the only person believed to have information about Genesis's whereabouts. Police Chief Michael Moore emphasized that authorities are encouraged by the lack of findings from targeted search efforts, including a Wednesday deployment of a certified cadaver K9 team from East Alabama K9 Search and Recovery around the apartment complex and nearby areas, which did not produce evidence related to the child.

Investigators are also seeking information from anyone who had a personal or social relationship with Adrienne Reid between December 24, 2025, and February 16, 2026, as even minor details could assist the search. A person named "Moriah," described as a Black female who may frequent Levels Bar and Grille in Enterprise or areas in Ozark, remains a person of interest who could have key information.

The focus remains firmly on locating Genesis Reid safely. Authorities have placed digital billboards with information about her in the area to raise awareness. Anyone with information on her whereabouts or who may have seen her recently is urged to contact the Enterprise Police Department immediately at (334) 347-2222.
