Michelle Obama Finally Opens Up About Divorce Rumors

Michelle Obama and her husband, former President Barack Obama, met in 1988 and got married in 1992. They have two daughters, Sasha and Malia, and people often see them as a happy couple. But recently, some people noticed Michelle wasn’t at a few important events, like Donald Trump’s inauguration. That made some people wonder if they were getting a divorce.

For a long time, Michelle and Barack didn’t say anything about the rumors. But Michelle finally spoke up on a podcast called Work In Progress With Sophia Bush. She explained that she’s just been busy.

Michelle said, “As women, we try hard not to let people down. So when I made a choice to do something for myself, people thought it meant my husband and I were splitting up.”

Michelle also talked about how she doesn’t like how people expect women to always be with their husbands. She said just because she’s not always next to Barack doesn’t mean something is wrong.

She said, “Sometimes we have to stop and ask ourselves, ‘Why am I doing this? Is this what I really want?’ And if it doesn’t look like what other people expect, they think it’s bad.”

On Valentine’s Day, Michelle posted a photo of her and Barack smiling together. They looked happy and in love. She wrote, “If there’s one person I can always count on, it’s you, @BarackObama. You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be!”

A fan commented, “Yup!! Y’all better NEVER break up! Love y’all!!”
