Donald Trump visited St. Andrew Catholic School in Orlando on Friday to talk with students and show appreciation for the teachers. He was there to learn about a program that helps students from families with low incomes get scholarships for private schools.

When Trump entered a fourth-grade classroom, he smiled and said, "Beautiful class, beautiful students." The students recited the school's motto, "College and heaven," and Trump asked two students, Janayah and Landon, what they wanted to be when they grew up. He told them, "You're going to grow your own business. You're going to make a lot of money. But don’t run for politics after."

As Trump walked around, he noticed a girl with braids and said, "I love her hair," referring to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

The visit focused on a scholarship program that helps students at the school. This program gives students from low-income families the chance to attend private schools, including St. Andrew Catholic School. More than 97,000 students across Florida use this program to attend private schools.

Trump also spoke to two students, Artayia and Marcus, from a high school in Florida. Marcus shared how his family came to America from Haiti, and Trump told them, “Great job” and “Proud to hear that."

Before leaving, Trump praised the school’s principal, Latrina Peters-Gibson, and the superintendent, Henry Fortier, for their hard work in helping students get a good education. Trump said that a good education is important for both the mind and the soul.

Though some people were upset about Trump visiting the private school, he spent time talking to students and sharing kind words, making them feel special and proud of their stories.
