• Woman Unexpectedly Gave Birth Without Even Realizing She Was Pregnant

Pregnancy is such a wonderful milestone for most women. The idea of being able to create life and give birth is just precious. Unfortunately, not every woman finds it easy to get pregnant, particularly those diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS. This condition causes irregular menstruation which makes conceiving a baby extremely difficult.

Carla Collazo was one of those women.

Being 37 years old and diagnosed with PCOS, she was told that she’s not likely to get pregnant. This was the idea she believed for some time.

Until one day, Carla experienced severe stomach and back pain.

Concerned with how she was feeling, her sister-in-law, Monica Santos, told her to take a shower just to see if it would make her feel better. However, instead of expressing relief, Monica heard Carla screaming on the toilet.

Carla felt something coming out of her fast.

When she placed her hand down, she felt like it was a head. She screamed for her sister-in-law who immediately ran in after her. At first, Monica thought that Carla was having a miscarriage because there were blood and water coming out of her.

When she pushed again, Carla felt the placenta in her hand but the baby dropped into the toilet. They were both terrified and scared that she had a stillbirth.

Then, they heard the baby cry.

Monica immediately called emergency service who guided them in taking out the baby from the toilet and tying a shoestring around the placenta. EMT arrived a little later and brought both the baby and new mother to the hospital.

Before they were transferred, Carla and Monica were able to call their mom and take a couple of pictures.

At first, the new grandmother thought that she was just being pranked. After all, Carla had no symptoms of pregnancy and hasn’t shared any news with the family about getting pregnant. She was only convinced after seeing the baby and the EMT.

    Her boyfriend was shocked, too.

His reaction wasn’t surprising because Carla didn’t show any signs of being pregnant. There was no weight gain, morning sickness or anything unusual in the last few months. Carla even took two pregnancy tests and both came back negative. The latest of that test was done 3 weeks before she gave birth.

Carla and her boyfriend have been praying for a baby for several years.

They have been together for 13 years and were actively trying to conceive over the last three years. The baby’s arrival was surely a surprise for them and the entire family.

Despite not receiving proper prenatal care, Carla and her baby Amoura Rose are doing well.

She was discharged from the NICU only after a few days and she’s now coping with extrauterine life quite well. Carla, on the other hand, is making huge adjustments on her part.

Compared with most moms who have the whole 9 months to prepare for their baby’s arrival, Carla didn’t have enough time to buy newborn clothes and other necessities. Fortunately, the whole family is by her side, particularly her sister-in-law.
