• Cop Gives Mom Of 5 New Car Seats Instead Of A Ticket.

  • When Andrella Jackson saw the flashing lights in her rear view mirror, she was sure she’d get a ticket.

Where she would find the money to pay for it, however, she didn’t know. With five kids to care for, the Wisconsin mom was already struggling enough financially. She couldn’t even afford car seats for her little ones. But by the end of that day, all she could do was smile, her heart filled with gratitude for the cop who pulled her over.

    ABC 7 Chicago

Milwaukee officer Kevin Zimmerman made the traffic stop and immediately noticed the lack of car seats. He’s a father himself, after all. But instead of punishing Andrella with a ticket, he decided his time was better spent helping her. Zimmerman stopped at Walmart, then made a trip to Andrella’s house… two brand new car seats in tow!

Andrella almost couldn’t believe his kindness. Not only had Zimmerman paid for the car seats out of his own pocket, but he took the time to install them as well.

“I was surprised, like I had tears coming down,” she said.

    Facebook

Andrella shared his good deed on Facebook, writing that her daughters, Niyah and Sky, “couldn’t stop thanking him and it made them smile.”

But Zimmerman says the choice to help was easy.

“I am a dad of three kids and can’t imagine anything happening to them or not being able to have them secured in their car seats,” Zimmerman said. “I was trained by the academy and my parents to do the right thing even if no one is looking.”

Zimmerman is a true hero for his dedication to keeping children safe, even if that means using his own money to do so. And the Milwaukee Police Department agrees.

“Thank you Officer Zimmerman for going the extra mile and going above and beyond your call of duty,” the department wrote on Facebook.
